Your options
Ways to make the journey
4.5–5 h
The highway runs east from Guwahati through Nagaon, past rice fields, tea gardens and villages, to the southern edge of the park. The final stretch runs alongside Kaziranga, and you may see rhinos from the road. We stop for lunch midway and aim to arrive by mid-afternoon.
1 h flight + 2 h drive
Fly to Jorhat (JRH), then drive about 95 km to Kohora. This works well when combined with Majuli, or when arriving from Kolkata or Delhi. Flight routes change, so check current status before you travel.
5–6 h
Trains run from Guwahati to Furkating near Golaghat, about 75 km from Kohora, or to Jakhalabandha. It is possible but less convenient than driving.
