Is October a good time to visit Ladakh?
Autumn colours fill the valleys, with golden poplars and willows against blue skies. Visitors are few and the light superb. Many camps at Pangong and Tso Moriri close during the month, and seasonal hotels shut by late October. Passes may see early snow. Thiksey Gustor can fall in late October or November. Pack for cold evenings, and plan Hanle near the new moon.
