Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa

The resort is built into the hillside where the Mandovi meets the sea, with the old fort walls running above it and Sinquerim beach below. Rooms and cottages step down the slope, many with views over the Arabian Sea, and paths lead through gardens to the pools and the sand. Next door is its sister, Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa, which shares the same stretch of beach.
For our guests, the location is the main reason to stay. Fontainhas and Panjim are about 30 minutes away, Old Goa 45, and the cafés of Assagao and Candolim 20 or less. The beach at Sinquerim is one of the calmer and cleaner in north Goa, and the resort has a Jiva spa for Indian treatments.
Why we book it
- Sea-view rooms below a 17th-century Portuguese fort
- About 30 minutes to Panjim and Fontainhas
- A calm, lifeguarded beach directly below the resort
Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is Taj Fort Aguada good for families?
Yes. It has pools, gardens and direct access to Sinquerim beach, which is usually calm and lifeguarded in season. The north Goa sights are within easy reach for half-day outings, so children are rarely in the car for more than 30 to 40 minutes.
What is the difference between Taj Fort Aguada and Taj Holiday Village?
They are neighbouring Taj resorts on the same stretch of Sinquerim and Candolim beach. Fort Aguada sits higher on the slope below the fort with sea views; Holiday Village is set lower, among gardens and cottages closer to the sand. We choose between them on room type and season.
How far is Taj Fort Aguada from the airports?
Dabolim Airport (GOI) is about 40 km, around one hour by car. Manohar International Airport at Mopa (GOX) is about 40 km in the other direction, also around an hour, depending on traffic at Porvorim and Mapusa.
