Seven restorative nights in south Goa with a private yoga teacher each morning, a daily spa or Ayurvedic treatment and light, fresh Goan food. Four nights at Taj Exotica with its Jiva spa, then three at The LaLiT on Rajbag beach, with gentle walks in Cotigao forest and on Agonda's empty sand.
Goa has long drawn yoga teachers and students, and its south coast, with long quiet beaches and warm, calm water from November to March, is a natural place for a week of rest. This journey is not a strict retreat; it is a luxury beach holiday built around a daily practice, good treatments and simple food.
Your private teacher, chosen for your level, joins you at sunrise each day, on the beach or a lawn, for 75 to 90 minutes. Afternoons bring a treatment at the Jiva spa at Taj Exotica or the spa at The LaLiT, with Ayurvedic massages such as abhyanga and shirodhara. Outings are short, slow and chosen for their calm.

Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is this a yoga retreat?
It is a luxury beach holiday built around a daily private yoga practice and spa treatments, not a strict retreat. There is no fixed timetable beyond your morning session, and you can eat and rest as you wish.
Do I need yoga experience?
No. Your private teacher adapts each session to your level, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Couples with different levels can share a session or have separate ones.
What kind of yoga is taught?
Usually a Hatha-based practice with breathing, asanas and meditation, adapted to you. Teachers trained in Vinyasa, Iyengar-influenced or restorative styles are available on request. Tell us your preference when you book.
Is this a medical Ayurveda programme?
No. The treatments are wellness therapies, such as abhyanga and shirodhara, at resort spas. For a full medical Ayurveda programme with a doctor and diet, we suggest a dedicated centre in Kerala.
Can we combine this with Kerala?
Yes. Many guests follow a week of Goa with a longer Ayurvedic stay in Kerala, reached by air via Mumbai or Bengaluru, or by the Konkan Railway. We plan both together.
What food is served?
We work with the resort kitchens to offer light Goan and Indian dishes: grilled fish, vegetable curries, dals, fresh fruit, salads and herbal teas. Alcohol is your choice; there are no rules.
When is the best time for a wellness trip to Goa?
November to March, when the mornings are cool and the sea calm enough for beach practice. December and January have the most pleasant mornings. April is possible but warm.
Can I travel alone on this journey?
Yes. Solo travellers often choose this journey. The price for a single room is higher than the per-person twin rate, and we can share the teacher's time with you for longer sessions.
Can the yoga be on the beach every day?
Usually, yes, at sunrise from November to March. On windy or rainy days, sessions move to a lawn, pavilion or studio at the resort. Your teacher chooses the best spot each morning.
