A large, low-rise Taj resort in Mediterranean style on the Benaulim beach, with wide lawns that run straight to the sand. It is our default south Goa address for couples and families: calm, well run, and 30 minutes from Chandor's mansions and Dabolim Airport.

Taj Exotica occupies a long stretch of the Salcete coast at Benaulim, with whitewashed buildings, arched loggias and terracotta roofs set among lawns and palms. Villas with private pools sit apart from the main building, and the beach in front is wide, flat and among the quietest in the area. The resort has a Jiva spa, several restaurants and a large pool.

From here, Braganza House at Chandor is about 30 minutes inland, the Margao market 15 and Cabo de Rama 40. Dabolim Airport is roughly 45 minutes. It is a resort you can stay at for a week without growing tired of it, with the southern sights close enough for easy half days.

Is the beach at Taj Exotica Goa good for swimming?

From October to May, Benaulim beach in front of the resort is wide and gently shelving, with lifeguards on duty in the main areas in season. Swim between the flags and not near river mouths. From June to September the sea is too rough to swim safely.

Does Taj Exotica Goa have villas with private pools?

Yes, the resort has villas with private plunge pools set apart from the main building, which are popular with honeymooners. They book out early for Christmas and New Year, so reserve several months ahead if you want one.

How far is Taj Exotica from Dabolim Airport?

Dabolim Airport (GOI) is about 30 km, roughly 45 minutes by car. Mopa's Manohar International Airport (GOX) is about 85 km, close to two hours, so we route south Goa guests through Dabolim where flights allow.
