Six nights for honeymooners: two on the island of the Taj Lake Palace, two in the granite hills at SUJÁN Jawai with leopard drives and sundowners, and two at The Oberoi Udaivilas in a room opening onto a pool. Private, slow and built around the evenings.
Udaipur is the most romantic city in India, and this journey sees it from both sides of Lake Pichola. It begins with two nights at the Taj Lake Palace, arriving by boat, and the sunset cruise past the City Palace. Then a three-hour drive into the hills brings you to SUJÁN Jawai, a small tented camp among granite outcrops where leopards live.
After two nights of dawn drives and sundowners on the rocks, you return to Udaipur for two nights at The Oberoi Udaivilas, with a pool outside your door, the spa and a private dinner by the lake. Little sightseeing, plenty of time together.

Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is Udaipur good for a honeymoon
It is the best city in India for one: lake views, island palaces, sunset boats and quiet evenings. This journey adds Jawai for a different kind of privacy and a wild element few honeymoons include. You arrive by boat at the Taj Lake Palace and end with two nights at The Oberoi Udaivilas in a room opening onto a semi-private pool. Tell us you are on honeymoon; hotels often prepare small touches.
Why go to Jawai on a honeymoon
SUJÁN Jawai is small, quiet and beautiful, with large tents, private dinners and leopard drives at dawn and dusk. It gives a honeymoon an adventure without hardship, and contrasts well with the palaces. Sundowners are served on a flat rock above the plains, and on day 4 the camp sets up a private dinner. A third night adds more drives if you want them.
Can we stay longer in Udaipur
Yes. Many couples extend to three nights at each Udaipur hotel. You can also add Jaipur at the start, with a flight to Udaipur, for a 9–10-night honeymoon. A third night at Jawai is another option for more leopard drives. Lake-view rooms at the Lake Palace book out months ahead in peak season, so we hold them as soon as your dates are clear.
When is the best time for this honeymoon
October to March for pleasant days and cool evenings. September and early October are lovely after the monsoon, with green hills and full lakes. Dawn drives at Jawai are cold from November to February, so pack warm layers. Christmas and New Year are the busiest weeks in Udaipur. SUJÁN Jawai operates seasonally, so confirm its opening dates; check current status before you travel.
Can we have a private dinner on the lake
Yes. Both the Lake Palace and Udaivilas arrange private dinners, and options change by season. We book in advance and confirm the setting when we finalise your journey. On this journey a private lakeside dinner is included on your last evening at Udaivilas, with the City Palace lit across the water. A second one at the Lake Palace can be added on request.
Are the leopard drives safe
Yes. You stay in the vehicle with experienced naturalists at a respectful distance. Leopards in Jawai are used to vehicles and people and avoid confrontation. The cats are often 50 to 150 m away, so binoculars and a long lens help. Drives run at dawn and in the late afternoon, and follow agreed routes through open land shared with villages and herders.
How far is Jawai from Udaipur
About 145 km, 3 hours by car through the Aravalli hills. The road is good, and we can stop at Ranakpur on the way if you wish. On day 3 you leave Udaipur after breakfast and arrive at SUJÁN Jawai for lunch and the first drive. With Ranakpur, whose Jain temple opens to visitors at midday, you reach camp later; check current status before you travel.
Can we add a beach after Rajasthan
Yes. Goa and Kerala are a short flight from Udaipur via Mumbai or direct, depending on schedules. Ask us to combine them into a single honeymoon. We would usually add the beach after your final night at Udaivilas, flying out on day 7, with the same private transfers. Flight routes and timings change; check current status before you travel.
Is the price per person
Yes, per person, twin sharing, from the figure shown, and it varies with dates and room categories. Peak dates around Christmas and New Year cost more. We give a firm quote once dates are fixed. Lake-view rooms at the Lake Palace and pool rooms at Udaivilas change the figure most, Diwali week is also priced higher, and SUJÁN Jawai's rates vary by season.
