Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is March a good time to visit Nepal?
March is the start of spring and one of the two best months in Nepal. Rhododendrons begin to flower in the hills above 1,500 m, the Annapurna foothills are green, and days are warm enough for lodge-to-lodge walking. Visibility is good early in the month, with some haze by the end. Holi colours the streets of Kathmandu around the March full moon. Chitwan is warm and dry, with good wildlife sightings.
What is the weather like in Nepal in March?
Kathmandu 8–25 °C, mostly dry. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
Where should we go in Nepal in March?
We suggest Kathmandu, Annapurna Foothills, Chitwan. Start mountain viewpoints before 7 am in late March, as haze tends to build by mid-morning.
