Samode Bagh is a walled garden laid out in the formal Mughal style, with water channels, fountains, pavilions and terraces. It belongs to the Samode family and has been run as a garden camp with luxury tents. In the cool months, it is a peaceful place to spend the middle of the day.

We drive the few kilometres from the palace to the garden, walk through its terraces, and sit down to a long lunch in the shade. The menu leans towards Rajasthani dishes, cooked fresh. Afterwards, there is time to rest under the trees before returning to the palace for the late afternoon.

Samode Bagh's operating season and access for non-residents depend on bookings and events. Check current status before you travel. If it is not available, we arrange lunch on a palace terrace instead.
