Alila Diwa Goa

Alila Diwa takes its look from Goan village architecture, with sloping tiled roofs, verandahs and open courtyards, reworked in clean modern lines. The large infinity pool faces rice paddies that turn green in the monsoon and gold by November. A separate wing, the Diwa Club, offers larger rooms, its own pool and lounge for a quieter stay.
The beach at Majorda is about five minutes away, with the resort's shuttle running to a beach area in season. Dabolim Airport is 20 minutes and Margao 15, which makes it a practical base for food trails, Salcete villages and the Chandor houses. We use it most often for monsoon and food journeys.
Why we book it
- Infinity pool facing paddy fields, at its greenest in the monsoon
- Twenty minutes from Dabolim Airport
- The Diwa Club wing for a quieter, more private stay
Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is Alila Diwa Goa on the beach?
No, it is a few minutes inland from Majorda beach, facing paddy fields. In season, the resort runs a shuttle to the beach. Guests who want to walk straight onto the sand are better at Taj Exotica or The Leela Goa.
What is the Diwa Club at Alila Diwa Goa?
The Diwa Club is a separate wing within the resort with larger rooms, its own pool and a private lounge for its guests. It is quieter than the main building and the wing we book for couples and for longer stays.
Is Alila Diwa good in the monsoon?
It is one of our favourite monsoon stays. The paddy fields in front of the pool turn bright green from July, the spa and restaurants make rainy days easy, and Dabolim Airport is only 20 minutes away when flights are delayed by weather.
