Is December a good time to visit Nepal?
December is clear, cold and quiet. Mountain views remain excellent, and the valley's heritage squares are pleasant in the midday sun. Chitwan mornings are foggy and cool, with sightings improving as the day warms. High trekking routes see snow and fewer lodges open, but short walks in the Annapurna foothills and around Bandipur are fine. Christmas and New Year are busy at the best Kathmandu and Pokhara hotels.

Kathmandu 3–20 °C, dry, cold nights. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
